▲ Damnit, I feel like I'm just dying of boredom... Nora was laying on her bed, her arm draped dramatically over her eyes.; If I don't do something soon, I'll surely die!; She sat bolt up, eyes closed, a frown pursing her lips. What was there to do though? She'd already gone down to the city alone- Wait, that was it! Her eyes opened, as she clapped her hands together. That was the problem, she had been alone! Thoughts started whirling through her mind, as she bent her head down to stare at the floor. When everything started forming a somewhat cohesive thought, she stood up, letting out a loud gasp. Yes, it was perfect! She just needed to find her... Without a second look at what she was wearing, she grabbed her purse and quickly glanced at her phone. Muttering under her breath, she stood there for a bit, before tossing it back into her bag, rushing out the room, and closing the door behind her. Nora sent a rapid slew of texts out to Scarlet: u need to help me

Proud of this, Nora slipped her phone back into her bag, setting off at a brisk pace. Of course Scarlet would come along with her! Well, hopefully she did. If she didn't- No, Nora had to think positive! That was the only way to success!

The sunlight was somewhat weak, but still warm. Scarlet enjoyed fall and winter more than spring or summer. Though she was rather small, she was much more used to cold weather than warm weather. She didn’t really get cold until the temperatures hit around 5 degrees or so, so anything higher than that was pretty comfortable to her. Though there was a chill on the breeze today, the girl still wore a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Her hair had been meticulously straightened and brushed, and fell in pretty sheets down her back and around her shoulders. The sheer length of her hair ensured it took her an hour or two every morning to get it to look how she wanted. Scarlet stopped in her tracks as he phone started vibrating in her pocket. Her eyebrows knitted together as she pulled it out and unlocked the screen, reading several texts from her roomie. Her lips pulled downward into a frown. Scarlet didn’t really like going out and doing things, but she also didn’t like telling people ‘no’ or disappointing them. Especially not people that she liked! She swallowed, her thumbs flying across the screen to formulate a response. Sure!12:03PM Where do you want to meet?12:04PM The girl moved off of the sidewalk as she waited for the response. Within seconds her phone vibrated again and she nodded to herself, returning it to her pocket. She traveled quickly to the agreed upon meeting place, arriving a little before Nora. She chewed her lip nervously, blue eyes flitting around, trying to find the redhead. She hated waiting for people or things. It made her so nervous.

▲ " Scarletttttt!" Nora came running down the sidewalk, her arm high in the air as she waved. She barely seemed out of breath when she stopped in front of her roommate, instead she seemed to have even more energy than before. " Oh I'm so glad you agree!" She exclaimed, grabbing Scarlet's hands, almost bouncing up and down, " I was sure I would die if I stayed any longer in our dorm." She gave a pout, her eyes widening. " But it seems like you're my wonderful savior! And for that, I am very grateful." Nora let go of Scarlet's hands and gave her a low bow, a wicked smile on her face. " Because of that, I'll get you anything you want." She gestured towards the city, her eyes dancing with excitement. " There's this adorable little cafe down there that I've been meaning to go to. And now that you're here, I can now go to it." It didn't look like she was taking a breath, words just kept spilling out of her mouth, without any pause. Clearly she had been dying to talk to anyone, she had been holding in everything she had wanted to say and now that she had someone to talk to, it was all spilling out. " There's also this cute dress I've been meaning to get. It'll, of course, be for a special occasion..." the redhead paused and glanced at Scarlet in the corner of her eyes, as if waiting for her to ask what that special occasion was; she'd been dying to tell anyone what had been going on with her private life for a couple of days now and was practically bursting at the seams to say anything! The girl jumped a little as she heard her name called. She turned, bringing her hands up to her chest. Wide, blue eyes watched as Nora ran toward her. Her roommate always had so much energy! Scarlet found herself a little envious. Nora was so pretty and nice and she didn’t have any trouble at all making friends. The white-headed girl wished she could be more like Nora, but for now she could simply settle for being friends with her. Nora was a really good friend so far, after all! As the redhead reached her and grabbed her hands, Scarlet laughed nervously – though the smile on her face was genuine through and through. She gripped Nora’s hands back, easily bouncing alongside her. Scarlet always found herself caught up in Nora’s energy, but it was kind of nice. “Of course I’d say yes!” She giggled softly, moving to tuck her hair behind her ears when Nora let go of her hands. Scarlet’s response had a connotation that Nora wouldn’t pick up on – one that Scarlet herself wouldn’t pick up on. Of course she’d say yes, because Scarlet didn’t know how to say no to anyone. Her eyes followed Nora’s hand as she gestured down the street to a café. Already, Scarlet was calculating how much money she had in her account. She hadn’t gotten a job yet, because she was struggling so much in certain academic areas – namely math. But she figured she would have plenty of money to get a coffee or a sandwich. And then Nora would be buying her something, which Scarlet was very excited about. “Yeah!” She chirped, “That sounds good~”She tilted her head slightly at her roommate’s next words. “…a special occasion?” she echoed, confused. What occasion? There wasn’t anything going on that was aware of….

▲ " I've been meaning to tell anybody," Nora whined, starting to head down towards the city, " nobody will let me speak at all about it." She draped her arm over her eyes, quietly pitying herself. " But you'll let me tell you about it, right?" She looked expectantly at Scarlet, eyes widening. " I promise I'll just talk about it for a bit!" She was dying inside without being able to tell really anyone about it; after all, it couldn't just be a random person. That is...unless it got seriously bad. Scarlet was her roommate, people did stuff like this and talked to them about things like this, right? " I've started dating someone," she began, sighing, her shoulders drooping, " but I'm not exactly sure...what to do, I guess. I've never actually encountered something like this." She rubbed the back of her neck, a frown appearing. " It might be a bit weird, but could you help me? I'm totally going in blind..." Her voice was pleading, as she stared at Scarlet, eyebrows pressing together. Though it was completely out of the blue, Nora needed to talk to someone about it. Not really to get some serious help, but just the simple " don't worry, you can do it!" would help; Nora was craving any type of support. And now Scarlet had to be the receiver of these worries. Even if she never replied save for the occasional " mmm" and " uh-huh," Nora would be happy with that. She just needed an ear, when it was boiled down. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Scarlet fell into step beside her roommate, her arm reaching to snake around the other girl’s waist when she felt the weight of Nora’s arm on her shoulders. Scarlet had never been touched so much as when she started school at Birchwood. Nearly everyone just seemed fine with reaching out and touching her, and though the feelings were foreign, she found that she did like them. It was nice, in a way. In another way, it made her feel somewhat strange. Maybe she just needed to get used to it. She turned her head to look at Nora as the redhead spoke, large blue eyes blinking slowly as she nodded to encourage the other teen to continue speaking. As soon as the news was delivered, Scarlet stopped in her tracks. A wide smile cracked across her features, and a high-pitched squeal followed it. “Nora!!!” It was clear to see from the way that he face lit up that she was excited for the other girl. Scarlet was somewhat of a hopeless romantic. She viewed being in a relationship as the ultimate goal of her life, so hearing that her friend was in one simply put her over the moon. “That’s so great!” She gushed, reaching forward to grab Nora’s hands. “Who is it? Is he cute? Do you have a picture?” Words and questioned continued to tumble from her lips. In her excitement, she almost overlooked her friend’s uncertainty, however, at the last moment she took a step back and acknowledged it. “What do you mean?” She questioned, tilting her head. “What do you need help with?” Her brow furrowed. Though the girl had read an embarrassing amount of romance novels, she knew nothing about how such things worked in real life.

▲ Scarlet had definitely been the right choice to talk to. Nora couldn't help but flush at her words. " Well, his name is Timothy, Timothy Felix. He's the same age as me, which I have to admit, is really nice. He's in a couple of classes of mine, which is where we met." She broke off and nibbled on her lip, trying to figure out how to respond to the next question. " It's just...I don't really do these kinds of relationships. If I'm being honest, Timothy isn't the type of guy I would usually go out with and I'm terrified-" Nora looked frustrated, as she let out a short breath, struggling for the words. " I'm...I'm not sure how to go about this relationship. I'm not that- I'm not that good at relationships." She scratched the side of her head, before hugging herself. " I'm just confused as to what I'm supposed to do." She gave Scarlet a small smile, looking a bit embarrassed. " Sorry- I- I guess I just dropped a huge bomb on you like that, it wasn't supposed to-" Nora broke off again, her eyebrows furrowing together. ' It wasn't supposed to be like this,' was what she wanted to say. But she didn't really know if the it referred to Timothy or her relationship to Scarlet. Honestly, this school was really messing with her mind. She had wanted to keep a small distance towards everyone, but everything had happened. And well...it really hadn't been going according to plan. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Scarlet smiled at her friend as she told her who she was dating. Personally, she had no idea who the boy was. But if he was older than her, she probably didn’t have any classes with him. She wracked her brain for a moment, trying to see if she could pull a picture of him up in her mind’s eye, but she simply couldn’t. “Timothy is a cute name~” She gushed. Her cheeks were flushed with excitement, but the smile on her face gradually wore off as Nora continued to tell her why she was nervous. Scarlet thought that all of her roommate’s worries were valid, so she wasn’t exactly sure how to comfort her. She remained quiet for a moment, finally jumping when the other girl apologized. “N-No, it’s fine!” She assured her. “I always wanna be here for you and hear about your life!” She went on sincerely. “M-maybe…” Scarlet reached up, twirling her fingers in a lock of her hair nervously. She always felt a bit apprehensive at voicing her opinions. She really just didn’t want to upset anyone. “Maybe it’ll be good for you to date someone different?” She finally managed to get the words out. “I-I mean, there has to be a reason that none of the other guys really worked out. Maybe you weren’t compatible with them.” She finally smiled again, tipping her head to the side. “You should just follow your instincts, I think! I mean, you’re really great! What’s not to like?” Once again, Scarlet smiled sweetly. She really liked Nora, so everyone would… right?

▲ Nora watched Scarlet's expressions, noting her hesitation, her eyebrows pressing together in confusion. Why was she so uncertain about speaking her mind? To the redhead, speaking from the heart was like second-nature to her. It just made sense that someone would say what they were feeling, no matter the consequence. But with Scarlet, it looked like she was choosing her words delicately. And that surprised Nora. Blinking out of her thoughts, she focused on what she was saying, taking everything into consideration. At her suggestion, Nora nodded slowly. " It is kind of nice to be dating someone I usually don't," she admitted with a small smile. At the word " instincts," she chuckled quietly. Well, her instincts were usually quite loud when she talked to someone she found attractive. Her instincts were more like rash reactions, the instincts. If that was the case, should she actually listen to her instincts? They were the reason she was in this dreadful school in the first place. But Nora wouldn't say those thoughts a loud; Scarlet had spoken her mind and she didn't want to shoot that possibility down. After all, as her upperclassman, wasn't Nora supposed to encourage positive behaviors? It was her duty, her job, she had to make sure that Scarlet was able to think positively in this retched environment. " Yeah, yeah, you're right," she said, conviction in her voice, " thanks Scarlet, I think I will follow your advice. I really appreciate it." She smiled softly at her roommate, thinking that maybe she had said too much to Scarlet. Though she was happy with her advice, maybe she had asked too much of Scarlet, she was still a Sophomore. But she had to make sure Scarlet was proud of what she had said. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Where Nora may not have always chosen her words carefully, Scarlet was easily the opposite. The girl always did her best to never offend anyone, and to tread lightly. Even around people that she trusted, it was very hard to get Scarlet to fully speak her mind if she felt like it would offend the person in question. After she had finished speaking, her eyes watched the upperclassmen carefully. She hadn’t been 100% comfortable with what she’d said, so she wasn’t sure what Nora’s reaction would be. She didn’t necessarily feel as though her advice was good. It wasn’t bad, and she’d done her best, but she was sure just about anyone could have given better advice. Still, she felt somewhat comforted by Nora’s response. She smiled somewhat shyly, looking away as she twirled a lock of hair between her fingers. “I’m happy to help.” Her voice was small and soft, and though she no longer felt quite as anxious, she wasn’t fully satisfied with what she had said. She wanted to help Nora, and while she did truly feel that the redhead was better off dating someone with a different personality since it never worked with the guys she typically went for… maybe she was completely wrong. What if she had just ruined Nora’s life? Anxiety continued to gnaw at her stomach as she stood there, to the point that it was making her slightly ill. “Wh-where do you wanna go first?” She piped up suddenly, desperate to relieve herself of some of the anxiety.
