▲ Why couldn't she just concentrate? Why was her mind racing twice even while she was trying to get sleep? And most of all, why did she feel so worried? These thoughts had added to her tension of mutually agreeing with Timothy that the two were an..."item." Even that thought alone, sent her shaking her head in a frenzy. It had happened so suddenly, should she slow down? Should she try to retract what she had said? The only thing she did know was how good she felt after she ran. Before coming to the academy, she had been on the track team. Though never one of the greatest, Nora still enjoyed the sound of her shoes slapping against the ground, slowly easing back into the rhythm of jogging. For once, her mind was able to clear and she was able to focus on something other than those thoughts. She had gone to the gym and had run until her legs felt like jelly and she couldn't stand anymore. Her exhaustion was too great to really think about anything but I need to lay down and maybe rest for months...
Once she trudged out of the gym, the redhead made her way outside, letting out a soft sigh, as the light breeze cooled her down. She draped her towel around her shoulders and occasionally patted her neck with it, sweat shining in the setting sun. Finally, she set her stuff down on a bench and collapsed on it, head in hands. Now that she was finally outside of the suffocating and sweat drenched air of the gym, the thoughts started slowly coming back. " Nrgh...I'm so confused," she whimpered, laying down on the bench, her cheek against the cool metal, about to sob from fear. " What am I supposed to do?!" Nora shouted, flipping herself over on her back and pressing her palms against her face, about to pretty much give up at this point. [attr="class","headerbox1"]@nora [attr="class","headerbox2"]249 words [attr="class","topline"]there's something about hanging [attr="class","bottomline"]out with the wicked kids — take the pill, make it too ill — [attr="class","audrey1"]Hot, late-summer days were not made for Audrey. They were muggy and sweaty and gross and the senior much preferred chilly fall days, before the air was positively frostbitten, but after it was oppressively hot. Too bad that wouldn't be for a few more weeks. At the very least, when the sun drooped, the air got cooler, and this evening seemed like a great time for a walk, especially after being cramped in her room all day. Audrey felt stiff. It'd be nice to stretch her legs.
While the beginning of her walk went rather normally, it wouldn't be long until she saw a figure curled up on a bench, and she'd speed up her pace, a bit worried. Had someone been beaten up and left there? Had something happened? Audrey couldn't help but immediately feel worried, especially considering the school they were at. Should she get someone? A teacher? A nurse? Should she investigate the body first? Upon approaching at least, she'd hear a voice. Whoever it was, was conscious. What a relief.
"Are you okay?" Audrey asked, approaching carefully. Hopefully she wasn't overstepping any boundaries, "You're not hurt, are you? Do you want me to get someone?" What was the most delicate way to ask 'did someone beat you up? do you need help getting to the nurse's office?' At the very least, the girl didn't look hurt. That was a start, "I'm Audrey." May as well give the girl her name while she was at it. ▲ Deep down, she had been hoping that someone would happen across her in her time of need. If she would be in any other position, she would've been elated to see another person. But right now, she was too busy feeling like there was a huge hole in her chest. " Erm...hi Audrey. I'm Nora," she said lamely, slowly sitting up and rubbing her arms. " I-I'm sorry, I'm good, really I am. Just um...confused, I guess?" Incredible, she was so articulate tonight. " Sorry if I uh...startled you." She gave her a weak chuckle, wishing with all of her heart if a big black hole could just open and swallow her whole. Please, I've already had one fantastic thing happen to me tonight, why not this one too?
" Guess you weren't expecting to run into someone out here, so late, huh?" Nora asked, trying to fill in the silence. She played with her hair, giving a small chuckle. " I just needed some peace and quiet, ya know? I hadn't realized anyone else was up." Nora did feel bad that she was now dragging someone into her problems that she didn't even know. But she couldn't stop the tirade of things that came out of her mouth. Who was there to talk to? Sure, she had Scarlet, but she couldn't just keep dumping this kind of worries onto her roommate this much; it just wasn't fair to her! But was it really this stranger's duty to listen to Nora?

[attr="class","headerbox1"]@nora [attr="class","headerbox2"]395 words [attr="class","topline"]there's something about hanging [attr="class","bottomline"]out with the wicked kids — take the pill, make it too ill — [attr="class","audrey1"]When the redhead sat up, Audrey couldn't help but feel relieved. While she was upset, she wasn't hurt, and that was much easier to deal with in Audrey's eyes. At the very least, she wouldn't need to try to lug anyone to the nurse's office in this case, even if it didn't make the other girl any less distraught.
"Confused? Something happen?" Call her nosy, but Audrey just wanted to help; it was the least she could do, she supposed. She naturally tended to lean towards being a caretaker for others, and as unruly as she could be at times, she truly wasn't an aggressive or harsh person. She was stubborn and had a taste for liquor, but she wasn't mean, nor was she the type to just ignore someone who was obviously distressed. That just seemed downright cruel in her eyes. "But you're fine, don't worry about it! Honestly I was scared someone beat you up and left you out here- I'm just glad you aren't hurt!" She'd smile softly, trying to be soothing regardless of those words. Around here? It happened. It wasn't even that uncommon. No one wanted to take responsibility for hitting someone so hard that they got a concussion.
At not expecting to see anyone out this late, the artist couldn't help but laugh, "People are out pretty late around here." There were only so many teachers on campus at any given time, security guards only patrolled so often, and cameras were only checked if there was an issue she assumed. A school could only be so secure, and as of yet, she hadn't been caught sneaking out of her room- or back in- after hours. As long as you weren't making an absolute menace of yourself, you could probably get around scot-free, "But I guess I wasn't really planning on seeing anyone." A rare thing, coming from Audrey.
"That being said, it's not that late out. Someone would have found you eventually." Lying on a bench at sunset wasn't exactly the best place to be if you wanted to be alone. There were corridors and backrooms and places not directly on the school's path for that sort of thing, "So what's up? You said you were stressing over something?" She'd bring the conversation back around, hoping that if she listened, she could settle Nora some, at the very least. ▲ " I...I don't want to bother you though," Nora replied weakly. She mentally smacked herself, frustrated with pretty much everything. Dammit, even when she was trying to avoid people, she still ran into them. Was this how introverts felt? Despite her words, she did want to talk to someone about it. Even if that someone was someone she didn't exactly know, though maybe it would help? " I hurt someone," she finally admitted, putting her head in her hands, " I didn't mean to, but I just didn't think that it would mean a lot to her-" Nora held her hand up and let out a sigh. " I just...don't have the same idea of what love means. I know I shouldn't be complaining, but it's just really confusing. Like, I like her, but he's also my boyfriend." Nora let out a groan and hid her face in her hands, wanting to just disappear right then and there. " I don't want to hurt either one, but I guess I already have! She...she's in a really bad place because of me. And I just keep asking myself why I had to meet her outside. I wonder if it would've been so much better if I had just kept walking." She took a deep breath and sat up straighter, her nails digging into her thighs. Finally, she seemed calm and she turned to Audrey, a thin smile appearing. " Sorry, I- that's a lot of just lay out for someone you just met. I didn't mean to say all of that.." Nora broke off, biting her lip, knowing that deep down, she had meant to say all of this to someone. She had needed to say something to someone and everything had just come spewing out.
