FRIENDS. Jasper can be pretty difficult to befriend. Although he does have some great qualities, these are not the qualities that he readily shows the world. Having grown up in a household with near constant abuse, Jasper is a defensive and somewhat mean creature. He tends to be very aggressive toward other men, taking even the slightest thing personally and reacting as such. Even when a guy isn’t doing anything wrong, he tends to come off as rather rough, abrasive, and overly sarcastic. It is actually easier for a guy to get past his walls than a girl, though. You just have to willing to put up with him being an asshole for a bit. And once you’ve done that, you’ll find a pretty good friend under all of his false bravado.[break][break]
Women are another story. Though Jasper won’t ever be outwardly mean or sarcastic toward them, due to years of mental abuse and manipulation at his mother’s hands, he has a hard time feeling comfortable around them or trusting them. He’ll be perfectly kind and gentlemanly, but there’s always this air of awkward distrust. It isn’t impossible for Jasper to befriend a girl, it just takes quite a bit of time and patience.[break][break]
ENEMIES. It is almost laughably easy to get on Jasper’s bad side, especially for a man. The smallest thing, even looking at him “wrong” can lead to a fight, and not just a verbal confrontation. Jasper isn’t afraid to punch someone in the nose, he’s done it plenty of times for little to no reason. Although he does try to control himself, the amount of anger and fear that build in him when he feels threatened seem to overwhelm his self-control. He’s been doing better about attacking people since entering therapy, but he still struggles with it. Even if he doesn’t throw a punch, his words can hurt just as much, and he’s just as willing to throw them. All of the above is pretty null and void for girls, though. He’s actually somewhat terrified of females, and will take quite a bit of abuse from them before he’ll do anything about it.[break][break]
LOVERS. Jasper is technically biromantic asexual, but he’s had little to no time to explore his sexuality. He’s been too distracted by his home life, and he’s a little too afraid of anyone to worry about whether or not he wants to be with them in any way. One would almost have to beat him over the head to make him realize if a friendship was entering into romantic waters, and though he’ll eventually be willing to experiment sexually, he’ll quickly realize that he isn’t very into it. All of that being said, Jasper does have a final lined up. Other people are welcome to develop crushes on him or just generally confuse him in the meantime though!

FRIENDS. Friends will probably come very easily to Iris. Though she never focused much on making friends back in Chicago, being separated from her family has made her very lonely. She’s desperate for some recognition or attention, and would probably befriend just about anyone. She won’t really put up with abuse to have friends, but she’ll accept just about anyone. She longs for a sense of family and belonging, and more or less wants to create a family away from her family until she can go back to them. Iris is not discriminating in the least bit about who she will befriend. She tends to be drawn to people whom she feels need her, since caring for people is basically her only sense of identity.[break][break]
ENEMIES. Iris has a myriad of bad traits that could easily garner her some enemies. She was raised in a dog eat dog world, and she brings that mentality with her everywhere. The second she feel threatened by anyone, she becomes a rabid dog who is more than willing to tear their throat out. Iris doesn’t play games, and she’ll destroy someone at the least inclination of danger from them. Anyone who has the audacity to hurt someone she’s brought into her “family” will also see her ruthless nature. Iris doesn’t necessarily enjoy fighting, but she doesn’t shy away from it either. Iris is of the group of people who are fine with doing anything as long as the ends justify the means. Though she may seem cute and sweet, she can be ferocious and cruel as well.[break][break]
LOVERS. Although she’s never had much experience with romance, Iris does actually enjoy it. She’s had a couple of boyfriends and girlfriends here and there, but fighting to keep her family together and safe has taken most of her attention over the years. She has been separated from her family, however, and would be more willing to accept romance because of that. Even more than with just friends, Iris will be attracted to someone who “needs” her. Either someone who needs her protection, or someone who needs to be fixed. She tends to be attracted, as well, to unsavory people. Those who have even more problems than she does. Though she is polyamorous, she has yet to realize this, and would be more than willing to enter into an exclusive relationship. This will probably bring about heartache on all ends later on as Iris figures herself out, but its character building!

FRIENDS. Although Scarlet is an extremely sweet, compassionate, and generally warm person, making friends can be very difficult for her. Although she actually does love people and being around them in general, she tends to be very shy and a bit awkward as well. She doesn’t necessarily know how to approach people, and though she can keep a conversation going once she has been approached, it’s pretty easy to tell that she is uncomfortable. Fortunately for everyone, it doesn’t take Scarlet very long to warm up to someone and get comfortable around them, though. As long someone is treating her kindly, Scarlet will trust them and consider them her friend within a few days at the most. She adores feeling close to people and like she matters to people, because oftentimes she can’t feel either of these things due to her own insecurities.[break][break]
ENEMIES. Enemies are… pretty much impossible for Scarlet. Sure, there may be people who don’t like her, but it’s not really like her to dislike anyone. Even when someone is treating her like trash, she tends to twist it in her mind so it is her fault. Though she won’t actively seek the person out, she also cannot find it within herself to be mean to them or even avoid them. Scarlet is the kind of person who would go out of her way to help someone minutes after they punched her in the face. She can’t stand to see anyone hurting, after all. People are welcome to dislike Scarlet and bully her, but don’t expect any sort of reaction or retaliation for it.[break][break]
LOVERS. Scarlet has been reading romance novels and fantasizing about having a boyfriend since she was about five years old. She already has her wedding planned, and though her parents’ marriage wasn’t exactly the happiest, she has high expectations for her own. She tends to struggle with the fact that she doesn’t think anyone will ever love her, but she can’t stop herself from dreaming about it. Getting married and being happy is basically Scarlet’s one goal in life, despite the fact that she is extremely talented in other areas. Scarlet develops crushes very easily, but once she enters into a relationship, that person becomes the only person she can see romantically. She does have a final lined up, but that won’t stop her from getting crushes (and being crushed on?) in the meantime.

FRIENDS. Asper can make friends if he wants to. He has been raised to know how to be sociable and charismatic, but most of the time for him to be these things, he has to feel as though he’s benefitting from them. And, considering he thinks he’s better than basically everyone else at school, he sees no real reason to try and go out of his way to be their friend. At school, Asper displays his true personality, which isn’t really all that great. He’s rough, rude, and honestly just out to get what’s good for him. He does eventually grow to care for certain people, but really there isn’t much to get out of befriending him. He doesn’t mind spending his money so whatever group he’s with can have fun, so basically that’s it. He’s a good party-friend that can develop into an actual friend with time. Once he does care about someone, he’s very loyal and protective and in general not a terrible person.[break][break]
ENEMIES. There are so many reasons to dislike Asper. I could probably write a 10 page research paper about it, but I’ll do my best to be brief. Apser has a very abrasive personality. He tends to say what is on his mind and not really care about the effect it will have on others. He is extremely self-centered, and can’t seem to empathize or even sympathize with most people. He loves to sleep around and then ignore most of the people he’s slept with. He has no qualms with lying and manipulating to get what he wants. He thinks he’s better than everyone, and this is made obvious by his general demeanor and the way he carries himself. Asper is, for the most part, awful – and no one will blame you for hating him.[break][break]
LOVERS.Ahhh, romance… or, as Asper likes to call it, ‘sex’. Asper doesn’t seem to have a romantic bone in his body, and he doesn’t want one. He isn’t interested in long-term relationships where he has to continually deal with someone else’s feelings. Not to mention, if he ended up getting serious with anyone from Birchwood, his parents would probably make him break it off anyway. Asper loves the thrill of the chase, and tends to get bored with someone after he’s gotten what he wanted from them. Asper will tell you that he’s straight, but he’s not, so don’t get discouraged. There’s plenty of Asper to go around and he’ll sleep with anyone. Though, depending, he’ll probably lie about it later.[break][break]
I don’t necessarily see Asper falling for anyone… but, stranger things have happened, I guess.
