[attr="class","hdinfo"]Jasper was born to a hard-working uppermiddle-class family. Though his mother was in her late twenties and his father in his early thirties, Jasper would be their one and only child. The couple had always had trouble conceiving, but rather than seek out reproductive therapy, they simply stopped using protection and let Mother Nature have her way. It took them nearly seven years to conceive in this way, but when they did, all of their appointments with the OB pointed to a perfectly healthy and happy baby boy. There were no scares during the pregnancy, and his mother went into labor right on time. The labor itself was rather long, but mother and baby ended up safe in the end. Jasper came home, and unbeknownst to the sweet new baby, his parents’ marriage started falling apart. The constant fighting would be something that Jasper would normalize growing up, and he never seemed too affected by it. He would be eight before his father cheated on his mother and things started escalate. Though his father had fallen out of love long ago, his mother never had. She spiraled quite a bit, and stopped taking her medicine. She started taking out her rage and hurt toward his father on him, and Jasper was left feeling shocked and confused. His grades began to suffer as a result, but when this brought his father’s wrath down on him as well, he tried to focus on school more. He became anti-social and angry, lashing out at the boys in his grade and avoiding the girls. When he was twelve his father started drinking, and nightly beatings directed toward his mother became a common occurrence. His mother, in turn, berated and belittled him more. She claimed it was his “fault” for allowing his father to hurt her, but Jasper tried to step in several times and walked away with his own bruises. As his frustration continued to mount, he got more and more violent at school. When he was fourteen, he seemed to snap a bit and attacked another kid for accidentally knocking his tray from his hands in the cafeteria. The other boy had to be sent to the emergency room in the end and Jasper was expelled for quite some time while the system tried to figure out something to do with him. During his expulsion, he was forced to be around his parents more, which resulted in more emotional and mental abuse from his mother. His father merely expressed his disappointment and stayed gone more. Eventually, Jasper was allowed back into school. Apparently his mother knew how to pull strings when she needed to. He was warned, however, that even the slightest transgression would get him expelled again. It was the middle of his junior year, and after a particularly violent and sleepless night, Jasper snapped once again. He stopped himself before he seriously harmed the other student, but it was enough to get him expelled. This time, his father was furious. The beating he received as a result was the worst he’d ever gotten. He finished up his junior year at home, and his mother managed to find Birchwood academy, where he was sent for his senior year. |
