[attr="class","hdtitle"]HISTORY/MISC.
[attr="class","hdinfo"]You know that expression 'Mothers are the most important?'
Well it's not wrong.
Britney Boone was born on a ridiculously peaceful and sunny afternoon. Completely unfitting for the fact that her mother passed away, due to having lost too much blood during the cesarean section. So within a matter of a few hours, a little girl was deprived of her mother, and left with her heartbroken father. Wasn't going to be that bad right? Why would she need a mother anyways, since she had an obviously caring father? Everyone always thinks losing one parent is the cause of tragedy - but honestly, it's only part of it. Tragedy, my friends, is like a cycling hawk. It watches, and then swoops down, taking the prey whether it knows it or not.
But I'm going off on tangents, this is about Britney.
So she had no mother - it wasn't bad really. Her father cared for her a lot - in fact, she was Daddy's little princess. A cute, charming child, her father did everything for her. She was the light and joy of his life, and she made sure she was the best. Getting good grades, participating in school activities - heck she even made sure to attend every lesson he prescribed her, and was an obedient child. She knew he missed her mother a lot, and she wanted to be the best child she could be for such a sweet Daddy! Of course, she had no idea how the world worked back then. You can already see where this is going right?
At the age of nine, he fell in love with another woman.
He didn't even talk to her about it. Next thing she knew, she was being outfitted for a wedding. She thought it was for a friend, honoured to bring the rings. It was only after she did her role, did she realize the horrible truth - it was her Daddy's marriage to another woman! But she was a good child still, and so she shoved her reaction down and tried to be happy for her father. But still, the way that woman looked at her was disgusting. Maybe it was just her jealousy at having to share her dad, although she couldn't realize that back then. She just thought she was being silly and tried her best to give a chance to this woman. Because she made her father happy in a way that little Britney couldn't provide.
Ah, tricked you didn't I? You were thinking of a horrible stepmother right?
Wrong. She was one of the sweetest women that Britney had ever met. In fact, the woman treated the girl as her own, indulging her just as much as her father did. In fact, in some ways it was better, because she knew what a little girl would want. Playing dressup, having her hair brushed, being encouraged - these things were important to a little girl. And Britney flourished, her puberty starting at a decent age - twelve, if you were curious. She didn't get mega-curves, but she was cute and eyecatching in her own way. And people liked her, and she was getting some of the top grades too. All in all, a really successful, pretty girl. And Britney was proud of that, refining herself as best as she could. She wanted to be that ideal student, the one that people looked up to, and wanted advice from. She didn't want to be a cheerleader though, she just wanted to be a genuinely good person.
What went wrong, you ask. Well, it all started on the evening before her fifteenth birthday.
Her step-mother had forgotten to get her present. She had picked up Britney from school, and had taken her shopping, sneakily grabbing her present at the same time. They stayed out, watched a movie - you know a typical girl's night out. And the teenager was rather happy, chatting animatedly. Of course, due to it being the months of winter, it was getting darker faster. By the time it was 9pm, the world was very much dark. They were heading back home, when a drunk driver - driving a minivan to their smaller car - collided with them. Both girls were injured, but her stepmom broke down a door, and helped drag Britney out. Both of them were waiting for the medics, and just as they arrived, Britney's stepmom fell unconscious.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman's last words were 'I love you'.
Britney went into a depression, going through life's motions automatically. She was like that for six months, and finally, she seemed to snap out of it. And that's when she discovered something - her dad was already getting remarried. To a woman he had been cheating on her stepmom with. This, from a conversation they were having, assuming she wasn't going to pay attention to it.
In that moment, Daddy's little girl died.
Unbelieving of this turn of events, she poured out her worries to a close friend. That close friend had always been kind of fringe with her other friends, but Britney had always found them to be a good person to her. She wanted to give them a chance, and they were the only person she could feel comfortable enough to share these worries with her. They had suffered loss and betrayal too, and would have an idea of what to do right? They were also one of the only ones that hadn't gotten impatient from her depression. Said friend comforted her, and brought her a house party. And for the first time ever, she let loose and let go. She had a blast, and relaxed.
Arriving home the next day, her father yelled at her. Apparently, one of her other friends had seen her, and told her father. And he was mad that she went off and partied. He even slapped her when she told him she needed to unwind. That one slap was the start of it all - more so that he left angry, and that he never apologized after for it. Britney realized that this woman, this new stepmom was what she had feared the first time. A woman that would want to drive a wedge between her and her father. Well she wanted a war? Britney was going to give it to her. And her father would suffer for it - not that she cared at that point, he had to suffer for what he did too - and eventually he would pick her over the new woman.
Poor misguided child.
It two years. She fought, she argued, and she started to backtalk against her father. When that didn't phase him, she brought this attitude to her school too, to the teachers. Her friends had been mostly shunning her already, just because she had been depressed and couldn't do what they wanted her to do. Britney realized quickly most of her friends were just using her - and so she decided to become harder. She sabotaged them, fought with them, mocked them - the whole nine yards. She was no longer the sweet girl that had an ear for everyone. She became, simply put, a mega-bitch. The world wanted to get her? She would crush it beneath her heel because she was better then them.
The few friends that remained were surprised when she was still considerate and nice to them - even if her method of showing it was rather stunted. And with her father's stunt? She decided that relationships were not worth it. Until someone proved themselves to her, she wouldn't care. Not like she had crushes before that anyways - she never had the whole sexual attraction stage most teenagers get. Still, she did her best to make her father pay attention to her, and make the other woman suffer by showing how horrid her child-rearing skills were. To shame her. Unknowingly though, she was providing her competition with plenty of ammo.
She failed a year. It was her crowning success.
And she was forced to repeat it. But she failed it again, and now her father, listening to that vile woman, sent her to Birchwood Academy. Sending her to that place to get 'help' so that she could 'work out her issues'. And that pissed off Britney so much. She wasn't going to change - not for her father anymore. Traitorous bastard. He was still trying to buy off her affection and obedience like he used to, and she was still playing him for a sucker. Now, she was on the warpath and woe betide the fuckers that would try to put her in her place in this new school. She wasn't classified violent - and honestly, she wasn't unless you started it - and so she was put in with the year that she failed twice. Junior year.
With the prospect of turning nineteen soon, and being an adult in her own right, Britney wasn't ready to just lie down and let life smooth her out. She was going to fight till her last breath.
And anyone in her way? They only got one warning.
