| [attr="class","hdtitle"]HISTORY/MISC. [attr="class","hdinfo"]All Kae ever wished for was peace and quiet. However, growing up in the big New York City, he never really knew what that was. Everyday was full of cars honking their way downtown and people yelling in the streets like there's no tomorrow. They were right when they said there's no place like home because Kae never knew a place colder than his home. The house was mostly dry and empty when his parents were on their million business trips and those were the peaceful days. When they were home, his world was filled with screams and shattering glasses. His parents never really cared for him. If they did, they surely didn't show it. They were always caught up in their own world, they hardly remembered he existed. Every time he tried to talk to them he would be either ignored or he would become the next reason they fought about. According to his mom, he was a miserable child because he received his dad's wicked traits and according to his dad, it was the terrible genes from his mother's side. Eventually, he gave up trying to get their attention about anything. Moreover, school was never really his favorite thing either. Kae always had a small frame and he didn't give a care about having friends. It wasn't really a surprise when he easily became a target of bullies. Kids got the best of him. It was a good day when it was only physical. The psychological abuse from the kids was much harder to endure. The only thing that comforted him through all this was his brother, Kieran. Kieran was 2 years younger than him. For all they had was each other, the brothers got along really well. Kae treasured his brother and kept him sheltered from harm as much as he could. On days when their parents were gone and the brothers ran out of food, Kae willingly stole so that Kieran would never have to know starvation. Small, insignificant crimes began as a way to survive. However, as he grew slightly older, he eventually picked up a few street habits that got him into trouble. Sometimes he deliberately stole or fought back just for the sake of being rebellious. It satisfied him a bit to see his dad frantically using his connections to fish Kae out. It was almost like getting attention he never got as a child. In some ways, it was Kae's way of venting. His rebellious stage was halted very short when things took a drastic turn as he turned 14. His mother was swindled, and she lost everything including her loathed husband who resulted to suicide after failing to save his life-long established business. She blamed him for everything even beyond the grave. Needless to say, she took it out on the children. She turned to alcohol as her medicine and the abuses for the brothers got very physical. Every day was worse than the day before. It was a very humid day in summer when his mother decided she finally had enough. The family savings were all gone and the brothers were nothing, but a burden to her. As she was driving Kae and Kieran to school, she deliberately crashed the car into a tree. Kae survived the accident with a few injuries and a concussion. However, for Kieran and his mother who sat on the left side of the vehicle where it was brutally crushed, things didn't go as smooth. His mother died on site, but Kieran was plunged into a coma. Ever since that day, Kae wondered why it couldn't be him that was lying in that hospital. Kae was sent to live with his uncle who unwillingly took him in. For a while, he was a living shell. He refused to talk to anyone. He ate and he slept. It wasn't until he accepted that he needed to live to see the day when Kieran wakes up that he started trying to communicate again. His uncle deemed it best for him to come in contact with more people. Thus, instead of homeschooling, he sent Kae to public school for his freshman year. It definitely helped him come out of his shell...in all the wrong ways. Kae was constantly getting into trouble. Eventually after a year, his uncle had enough phone calls. Taking heed of a friend's recommendation, he decided to send Kae to Birchwood Academy where he would have to learn to behave better. For now, Kae is just starting up his first year at Birchwood and trying to survive without problems. His uncle threatened to pull the plug on Kieran if he did anything outrageous. Kae stopped deliberately searching for trouble since his mother's death, but trouble has a peculiar way of finding him. |
