[attr="class","hdinfo"]Rowan was born the youngest of two children and raised in Portland, Oregon. However due to complications during childbirth, her mother passed away due to severe blood loss. Her brother, who was seven years older than Rowan, took on most of the housework at the time as their father had simply distanced himself for a bit so he could cope. While he did eventually return to his normal self, it's hard to say whether or not he recovered. He always liked to remind Rowan about how much she looked like her mother. Despite his distance at first, he was a good father, that she is more than happy to admit. He loved nothing more than to tell his children stories of their mothers unwavering kindness and understanding. She was a teacher who had the pleasure of working with elementary level students. It was then that Rowan knew she wanted to work with kids herself one day.

For the most part, she attended private school up until around the time high school started. Throughout the years though, there was one thing that rang true. She was a social butterfly who was more than happy to offer a hand out to anyone in need. Much to the chagrin of her fellow students, she'd always been a lot more perceptive than they chose to let on. She had a latent maternal instinct that reared its head every now and again. It was near impossible to stand idle while it was obvious someone was suffering. While kind, she always reflected an assertive nature so most wouldn't take advantage of that kind nature. She was a maternal figure through and through, stressing the importance of taking care of one's self as well as abiding the rules.

By graduation, she finished with honors. As per her original goal, Rowan went to school to become a teacher. However she opted for a higher level of education. She wanted to help children into a proper path of life, yes, but she wanted more of a challenge. People always said how teenagers were utterly worthless when it came to the repairing of any damage. Naturally she opted to become a high school level teacher. While there were several fields, science had always been a favored one. Around her final year it came time for her to choose a place to student teach. Searching lead her to Birchwood reform school. After a successful year, she moved on to finish schooling. If truth be told, she was a little upset to be leaving the school, all of the students she had the pleasure of meeting were surprisingly a delight. Much to her fortune, she had been offered a job as a full-time science teacher, one she was happy to take.
