 BEN SHAW 16 | sophomore | bisexual | appFRIENDS He'd probably be pretty okay with casual friendships, but expect him to lay down some rules and boundaries if it gets any further than that. Ben probably hasn't had any genuine friends since forever? He's the kind of person who'll look out for whoever pays him even a smidgeon of respect and often goes beyond what's needed. He's the kind of guy that worships whoever he admires so being treated the same way back would be a nice change for him, I think? ENEMIES It's kinda hard to ignore the fact that Ben'll be just downright annoying to some people. At times he can be a bit of a clingy loser XD ! He'll only really go looking for fights if it's to defend something/someone? I can also imagine him lying and owing up to things he had nothing to do with could be pretty infuriating if someone actually wanted to take the credit.If he ends up going around lying about doing something stupid he could easily get himself in trouble with someone anyway. ROMANCES Since he's picky with friends, he'll most likely be picky about who he dates. But he probably won't mind at all being in a fake relationship just for show. Because pretending to be your boyfriend is just as good as the real thing, obviously. That could potentially get messy I guess? He's kinda non-committal...not purposefully so, but it just seems easier to him to stay single sometimes. Genuine mutual feelings would be super sweet though? It just might take some work. OTHER So I guess something he'd really be looking for is some kind of leader-like figure? I mean he's a total follower and is practically begging to feel a part of something - he needs someone to do odd jobs for and to loyally follow around like an annoyingly loyal puppy dog?? Basically please let this doofus be your sidekick lol. ...Aside from that, I guess he might miss being an older brother so having someone to look out for could be fun too? I dunno. OH BOY I LOVE THIS CHARACTER Ainsley Willis and Benjamin ShawAinsley can be overbearing? BUT He's the kind of person who can getting along with follower type people? He has no issues taking control of a situation and actually kind of prefers it. He tends to be like... in your face but he's a good dude. He's loyal to his friends, and he builds them up a lot. He'd probably shower Ben with compliments. Unfortunately Ainsley also has a habit of tearing people down and speaking his mind, so I could see that being a bit annoying. COLE DALLIS and Benjamin ShawPlz be Cole's big brother. Cole is walked on super easily and tends to live in willful ignorance about stuff. He's a massive softy and practically has 'bully me' written on his face. He's super nice though, and isn't particularly shy. He can be a bit touchy sometimes, and would probably cling onto Ben if he was even like... passingly kind to him. He keeps all his 'bad feelings' bottled up and explodes every so often, so that'd be a trip. |

 [attr="class","top"] seven & benjamin [attr="class","text"]skittish, shaky, and spineless, sev's pretty pathetic overall. that being said, she's pretty quick to latch onto anyone that even thinks about being kind to her once and will help them in whatever ways she can, if they can handle the fact that she's generally pretty quiet until she gets to know people, and the fact that she's honestly the jumpiest thing in existence. if ben wants to be needed/respected/looked up to, uh, sev's pretty good at putting people on pedestals and adoring them.
that being said, sev's got horrible social anxiety and doesn't really go out of her way to talk to new people, so ben would need to be the one to start things. and to carry the conversation for a while. or you said he wasn't too smart in his application? seven generally gets pushed into tutoring students by teachers, or bullied into doing peoples' homework, so that could happen. not sure how in character any of that is for him though. Jasper Collins & Benjamin Shaw I’m not quite sure but I think they could eventually work up to being friends? It kind of depends on how Ben is gonna respond to him. Jasper is naturally aggressive toward males and tends to come off as super sarcastic/quite a bit of an asshole at first. But if Ben responds submissively or at least doesn’t fight back, Jasper will lose steam and I think eventually they could become friends because of that? I dunno. Lemme know. Also Jasper is so outwardly confident and stuff, he could possibly be the leader-figure that Ben is looking for? |

ohwow ok ...sorry for delayed response to all of you D: ! Just been super busy this week so I might be a tad slow until the weekend ;u; I'm gonna just ...do a mass reply so here goes. Benjamin Shaw & Ainsley Willis omg Ainsley sounds like just the type who'd love admirers so that'd be great! Pretty sure Ben wouldn't mind being told off and bossed around if he gets some compliments along with it. Ainsley would most definitely be the boss (and tbh i find that pretty hilarious since he looks totally non-threatening and adorable?? butyeah) ...I guess the real question is how they'd meet and how that'd develop and whatnot? I think it'd be fun to play it out as they're figuring each other out/sizing up etc but that's all I've got ;u; ? I guess a situation where Ben would wanna help out orrr where Ainsley looks mega awesome/showing off would work best but my mind's just blank right now orz Benjamin Shaw & COLE DALLIS awwbless :') ! This sounds fun - I imagine there'll be some complications somewhere down the line? Like Cole suddenly unleashing negative emotions for starters...but also, Ben is all about putting up an appearance? If put in a situation where he doesn't want anyone else to find out he's been looking out for a big softie 3-years older than him, he'd look pretty uncool and might shove Cole aside (and probs feel terrible about it later?)
Anyways, I'm sure Ben'd love some attention even if Cole is clingy? But if we can sneak in some conflict and brotherly-like bickering that'd be amazing too if you're up for that? (i mean it might just be me who enjoys making things difficult for charas pfft)
I actually really love the tutoring idea? He's not exactly clever lol but not completely dumb either - but I bet there'll be subjects Seven excels at that he completely fails at for sure (probably something logical like...maths?). Add in the fact that his parents really didn't care for his schooling, I can picture him weirdly enjoying having someone actually wanting him to do good? Even if it's something Seven's just been pushed into lol :') - teachers sounds more likely than bullying to me? Just because I don't think homework and tests is on top of Ben's priority list, and Seven could probably do with being paired up with a confident young'un or something...from a teacher's POV? Idk if that'd sound about right tho?
Afterwards he'd probably feels like he owes her a huge favour and wouldn't pay much heed to her anxiety so that could prove quite annoying idk? Either way I'd totally be up for this! XD
Sounds about right to me! Ben would only get defensive if someone else gets involved or if there's name-dropping going on or something...otherwise he probably wouldn't care all that much. If anything, it'd probably lead to him strangely liking Jasper? On the surface he'd seem like the kinda badass he'd love to be affiliated with? In some ways I kinda imagine Jasper's the kinda person Ben wishes he could be like but it's just unattainable for him?? Some sort of weirdly-aimed admiration would occur either way lol ...unsure whether that'd lead up to some sort of leader/follower situation? Or whether it'd be a mutual friendship? Depends on how Jasper would take to being idolised I guess? It'd be fun to work with whichever way it goes so lemme know what you think?

I'm too lazy to write up my like... 'template' so here you go. Benjamin Shaw and Ainsley WillisThey could meet any number of ways tbh. I could really imagine Ainsley like... getting bored one day and deciding he needs a new friend and just immediately latching onto Ben. OR, I could also see Ainsley just bragging about something to a group of people and Ben just sorta drifting over. Either is totally like... workable. Benjamin Shaw and COLE DALLISOoomg I love all of that tbh. LIKE Cole having a freak out and then Ben being like 'um I can't handle that' would make Cole so sad and like... It would also sorta benefit his development. ALSO if Ben like... decided to push him aside cause Cole is thee years his senior and whatnot Cole would also be sooo sad BUT again it would be good for his development. IT would also like... Cole could use some brotherly bickering? He's sort of a doormat but I imagine he's gonna come into himself soon enough and like get more comfortable with 'arguing' with Ben and others. |

Jasper Collins & Benjamin Shaw Haha I love the idea of someone actually liking/idolizing Jasper, since he’s such an asshole. I’m not honestly sure how he’d respond? It might make him feel a little weird, but at the same time, I think he would eventually befriend Ben because he does need friends and he gets lonely at times. And don’t let him lie, he’d like the attention. |

[attr="class","top"] seven & benjamin [attr="class","text"]sorry this took so long! work always ends up draining me more than i think it will and i always end up promising things "after i get home"... and then i fall asleep and have to go to work again when i wake up. BUT YEAH it's the weekend now so i can sleep in and respond to things.
i'm glad you like the tutoring idea! and yeah, sev's. pretty good at math, so i think she can help ben out on that end. try to encourage him to do his best and what have you over time. LIKE at first i imagine sev was pretty against the idea she always is when it comes to meeting new people but once she established that ben wasn't awful in her mind, it'd probably be something she looked forward to every week or whenever they met up, if only for the consistent human interaction. and she really would be proud of him when he did well? like it's always nice to see someone's hard work pay off, especially when you've been trying your best to help them out.
as for the anxiety thing, it just depends on how loud he was being & how many times they'd met up with each other before that point, tbh. like after a while he'll grow on her, but at first especially she'll be nervous. i don't think she'll find him annoying though. it's nice to have someone noticing you once in a while. like it'd surprise her? but in a good way. that being said, if ben ever mentioned feeling like he owed her, i'm 100% sure seven would deny that. she was legitimately just happy to help and isn't really looking for anything in return. but also like please drag her around and push her into going places or doing something bc she will literally just sit in her room alone all day if people don't, even if it's just bc he "owes" her.
