Lain used to be very particular with who she was seen with, pre-Birchwood Academy. Any friend of her ex's was hers too, although it didn't turn out as smooth as Lain thought it would be. Despite being complacent, she does have a heart to reach out and ask you what the matter is-- that is, if you can get through her first few layers. It's also equally hard to catch her attention if she wholeheartedly does not give a fuck about the topics talked about, or your class. However, music classes are guaranteed to make her willing to learn.
In the latter run, Lain expects to better herself in socializing in general, setting aside any trust issues she may have cultivated throughout the previous years, and some occasional biases. Plus points if your character's into weird fetishes and has a great sense of music taste, as she loves to discover different genres.

Lain has a very expansive temper-- borderline apathetic, so there's nothing you need to worry about should you ever engage in a bickering contest. The issues you might encounter are the ones where her straightforward comments are involved: she's more than willing to call out your shitty haircut and your tacky shoes should it ever come to it.
She's also pretty dismissive overall, which is all the more reason for you to dislike her. If you, at any given moment, insult her guitar, her mother or her passion, she's most likely to cut you. Her attachment to these things are pretty tight, and Lain's easily triggered. The degree is subjective.

After her first and boyfriend upped and left her, Lain's outlook on relationships became bleak. While she's definitely fine with hook-ups and one night stands (she really likes sex on moderation, rated M folks), she's hands off on an emotional spectrum. Though it's not as hopeless for you if you're ever interested in a musician like her, where she'll lament on possibly anything. It might do you no good.
Not saying it's not possible, either. She's still willing to give shots, whether it's a hit or a miss. But as with friendships, you have to get past her other layers before ever getting to engage in something with Lain.

She's interested in creating a music project soon that could use a few members. Although this isn't a long-term thing, it's an item crossed off her bucketlist.
