wickity wickity whack Thoughts have been looming in her head as of late-- momentary flashbacks just love to come and haunt her at unsuspecting times, and Lain was quick to realize she's in the same black hole she resided once back before she started here in Birchwood. Out of all the goddamn times, on this "fine" afternoon, while she was walking to class. Slightly aggravated (and groggy, barely had any sleep last night too), she maintained her pace as she walked to class. Her guitar bag was slipping, had to prop it back up. To all who ask why or if it was necessary to bring it, they should know by now that it's always completely relevant to who Lain is and how they can know her by. Even though Chemistry class isn't the proper time to be playing such guitar. 'Fuck that.'It was about 12 minutes she presumed until the start of classes. If it wasn't for her mother texting and calling her to get up from the bed and go to her first class, things would have been pretty different from here. But alas, chemistry. Lain looked left and right before sitting near the door, pulls out her guitar and starts plucking a few chords, then tuning it accordingly. With this, she feels at ease. No one's around for now. tagged: Nora Foster notes: ayeee here we go!!!!!!

▲ Why was she here so early? Who actually gave a damn about being on time? She could be asleep right now and yet, here she was. Standing outside the chemistry door, forcing herself to actually stay awake, her eyes closing and her head bobbing. However, the sound of a guitar being played slowly roused her, eyes opening blearily. Incredible, I'm going crazy. Nora thought to herself, looking at the door with half lidded eyes. I'm hearing a guitar being played...I've finally snapped. However, this information didn't seem to phase her in the slightest; in fact, it brought on a very sleepy grin, as if the thought eased her. She had been here for about a couple weeks now, it was bound to happen. Though as she opened the door, she realized that she wasn't the only one to class a bit earlier. And on top of that- " Huh?! There's actually a guitar?!" Nora asked, blinking slowly, before letting out a groan and pressing her hand against her head. Without another word, she sent the girl a small smile, laughing and rubbing her arm, realizing she had said that a loud. " Ah...lo-looks like we both got here a bit earlier," Nora said, trying to defuse the tension, " Um, I'm Nora, it's nice to meet you." The redhead walked over to the other girl, her hand outstretched in a greeting. Wow, she really was off her game today... Some things i'd like to keep to myself... Her plucking grew intensely fast, as if to produce fleeting aggravation in every finger that triggered the string. Biting her bottom lip, she closed her eyes and struck hard, before she took a rest for a moment. ' Shit, only five minutes left? I thought I was playing longer than that.'
Now, Lain was a bit sane today– she won't smoke until after this period is over– if she isn't mistaken, an odd looking girl approached her. "Ah...lo-looks like we both got here a bit earlier," A random girl approached her, somehow groggy but her hand was outstretched. "Um, I'm Nora, it's nice to meet you." She wasn't particularly ready to talk to her, considering she's been at this school for about three days worth last she checked. She blinked a few times at her, resting the rest of her deadweight on the body of the guitar, looked left and right before facing her again and saying in an eerie way, "You can see me? Huh." Lain pursed her lips for a few seconds. "Normally they don't see me here until 12AM while I'm playing eerie songs." Maybe this trick'd work this time. tagged: Nora Foster

▲ Nora blinked slowly at the other girl, trying to process what she had just said. Huh? She let her hand fall, keeping her eyes completely on Lain, her sleepy brain trying, and failing, to understand. " Wait- What- I-I'm sorry what did you-" Her brain was short circuiting and she shook her head, as if attempting to get some of the gears working. " That's...a joke, right? You're joking?" An eyebrow raised, as she looked the other over. It had to be, there was no such thing as ghosts...er, whatever this girl was trying to say she was. " Because if you were some...'spiritual being' and you played an instrument, why'd you be here...? In the Chemistry...room." Her eyes moved back and forth, her eyes narrowing as she thought. " I can also...see you," she finished lamely. " So you've got to be kidding. Um...right?" This was way to early to have stuff like this happening. Too much input and not enough time to wake up. Witnessing this girl's reaction already scratched an item off of her bucket list, it was insanely fulfilling-- it didn't even strike 8AM yet, much more from graduation. She kept plucking a few strings before she heaved a sigh, closing her eyes once more, savoring the feeling, the feeling of accomplishment. At least now she wasn't looking like a failure. If anything, she looked like she would scare everyone she met out if she continued this sick joke. It was a fun while it lasted. Putting Gutter aside placed on the dusty guitar case, Lain looked at this girl-- Nora, was it?-- scrutinized her from bottom to top, then said, "Just rehearsing. I figured if and when I get inside this room, I'm gonna die." The crimson-haired girl pursed her lips together and again, heaved out more of her heavy sighs and shifted her gaze somewhere near the top of her head. "So you believe in spiritual beings, you said? Do you?" Not like she did, but one to two conversations would be pretty decent for her to keep her awake. Mornings are just awful this way. tagged: Nora Foster

▲ She was continuing the joke? In any other situation, Nora would be quite impressed at how she continued on with this, but in this situation, it just made her more and more confused. Her tired brain had given up trying to figure out what was going on. Perhaps she should just go along with it, it might make everything a lot easier. Nora took the seat in front of Lain and set her backpack on the ground. " I wouldn't say I believe in them, I'm just terrified of them," she replied, spinning her chair around to face Lain and settling down on it. The redhead crossed her legs and put her hands in her lap. " Why, is that a threat? Are you now going to haunt me?" She asked, tilting her head to the side with a small smile. " Because if that's the case, I have to warn you, I like being around a lot of people. You might be seen by a lot of people. And you don't strike me as the type of supernatural being who likes being around a lot of people." Nora shrugged a shoulder before continuing, " I don't want to scare you away, I've never really had a ghost haunt me." She gave a dreamy smile at that possibility. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Lain, left with no other ideas retaliation, shrugged and packed Gutter inside the guitar case, allowing it to rest on the floor just beside the counter where she was near when she got inside. She darted a long stare at Nora, quite a sketchy one at that, as if prying into her secondary layer to see what this girl was made of. What was there about her, and why do they cross paths now? The questions are melodramatic, and albeit sincere in all forms of query she was admittedly interested in her. Yeah, she knew Lain was bluffing, but for the sake of being consistent with interaction, it's what she did. Sitting down--finally-- on the stool, she propped her palm on the small of her cheek and placed her head weight on it, continuing to scrutinize the place. She mumbled: "How do you suppose you make the perfect acid in this chemistry lab?" Acid, ah, that was Lain's favorite topic to read up about back when she was so enthusiastic in learning. Acids and bases. Pretty neat stuff.... until she tried the psychadelic drug. Closing her eyes, she could only reminisce well. Wonderful. tagged: Nora Foster
