[attr="class","hdinfo"]affectionate ▸ uriel is a loving girl both verbally and physically; she compliments, hugs, and gives butterfly kisses on the regular. not only is being affectionate a habit of hers, it's practically a lifestyle as she was raised in a caring, happy (for the most part anyway) family.

amiable ▸ though friendly, uriel has trouble socializing with others without coming across as 'awkward.' because she is. in fact, she will sometimes start a conversation just because said conversation's already began inside her head. nevertheless, uriel remains approachable and available for interactions because one can never have too many of those.

blunt ▸ she is very outspoken with the tendency to tell you her exact thoughts, albeit sometimes in an odd manner; whatever enters her head has little chances of getting processed and will leave her mouth almost immediately. she is said to be thoughtless and will rarely think of consequences till they are pointed out to her. also known as birchwood's 'captain obvious.'

compassionate ▸ uriel is quick to feel sorry for another as soon as evidence is presented. she is emotional and cries easily. though for many others there can be a maternal instinct following feelings of empathy, for uriel it tends to be simply nosiness and an inability to mind her own business. she is forceful and pushy when her mind is set on helping another.

competitive ▸ spunky and with a desire to always win, uriel often finds herself in trouble due to this refusal to lose. she likes to make a competition out of practically anything and everything, big or small. will often throw tantrums even if only to insist that she has won when she hasn't.

curious ▸ uriel holds a natural curiosity towards the world and is always determined to solve every mystery she encounters. she is especially interested in the people around her and will stalk hunt them down with everything she's got. don't bother hiding from her; chances are, she will find you. she also asks a lot of questions and copies others, not to be annoying but because she just really, really wants to get to the bottom of things.

eccentric ▸ an illogical girl whose head is said to be wired a bit differently from others. she becomes fascinated quickly and has the tendency to continuously count, touch, sniff, and collect many of the things she comes across in her daily life. some of the 'things' she collects include, but are not limited to: insect corpses, troll dolls, joker cards, and candy wrappers.

impatient ▸ uriel gets annoyed quickly and will personally 'do something about it' if she is not seeing the result she expects. not that it's always a very negative trait, since it does also mean that she is very much a go-getter once she sets her mind on a task.

insensitive ▸ frankly, she doesn't understand why anyone would be affected by her words or actions. it's not that she doesn't care, she just doesn't think that deeply into things in general. she isn't observant and she isn't alert, so many things have the tendency to just bounce off of her. one could say that she is rather 'oblivious.'

loyal ▸ she is odd and a bit out of sync with her surroundings, but once she considers you as a friend then she will stick by you come hell or high water. can become protective as well which usually ends up with her involving herself too much that it gets quite obnoxious. will 100% smash skulls and break limbs for her friends' sake.

[attr="class","hdinfo"]▸ uriel felicity ortese is a fifth generation spanish-american. she was born in a deeply religious family as the second daughter of a pastor and his wife. though not necessarily religious herself, uriel has always been a very imaginative child; she has believed herself to be the reincarnation of a certain archangel of purity ever since age six, after learning the origin of her first name. she thinks that she was sent to earth for a reason, and that reason is to 'purify' the world and 'rid it of evil.'

▸ uriel grew up idolizing her elder sister who is three years her senior; everywhere she went, uriel would follow, and every friend she made, uriel would try to get on their good side as well. this got to the point where uriel was constantly copying her sister. not only did she act like said sister, she even talked in the exact same manner as her. though her own oddities have long surpassed the residues of her sister's behaviour, that same speech pattern still remains today even if uriel looks and acts nothing like a valley girl.

▸ when her rebellious sister made friends with a group of questionable students, uriel, of course, attempted the same. she tagged along to every outing despite her sister's and everyone else's dismay. nonetheless, it was through the gang of troubled youths that she learned how to talk with her fists; 'actions speak louder than words,' they would tell her. infatuated with the idea of 'crime-fighting' (aka 'purification'), uriel soon became a known ticking bomb who went around school campuses challenging bullies-alike. the problem is that uriel was (and still is) young and naive with an inability to tell between right and wrong: she romanticizes everything and is especially fascinated by loyalty and sworn brother/sisterhoods.

▸ both of her parents were devastated when her sister ran away from home a few months ago. uriel, in an effort to find her beloved sibling again, told them everything that'd happened during their 'hangouts.' afraid that their remaining daughter would follow the path of their firstborn, pastor ortese and his wife quickly opted to send her to birchwood, hoping that the school would help straighten up her act. though sad to leave her friends (and her sister's friends) behind, uriel obediently accepted her fate.

▸ she is intrigued by anything supernatural/mystery-related, and tends to go on little 'adventures' around town. often wears paper bags and other such 'masks' over her head during her crime-fighting missions. she is also keeping an ear out for news regarding her sister.

▸ uriel carries fake, lengthy prayer beads on her person and uses them as a whip-like weapon (like an anime nun). practices her aim as frequently as possible. is also strangely talented with ropes and exceptionally good at tying any sort of knot.

▸ christmas is her favourite day of the year and she absolutely insists on leaving milk and homemade cookies in her friends' lockers all year long.
