Empathetic- Rayner feels for other people easily, thanks to being treated badly for a long time in his own life. Persistent- If nothing else, Rayner can keep going even if everything is going wrong for him.
Cautious- Rayner is constantly on edge unless he recently got his drugs but this means he can get out of dangerous situations quickly or see the negatives.
Intelligent- Rayner is very smart, especially in subjects like math or science. Unfortunately, this intelligence gets hidden often thanks to his drugs making him unfocused on his schoolwork.

Negative:
Cowardly- Rayner is not the bravest soul, after all, he's scared of making his parents even more disappointed in him, big, strong looking people, the dark... yeah, he got a lot to be scared of.
Anxious- Honestly, Rayner gets worried over everything, always thinking something is going to go wrong, that he's not going to be good enough and so on, making him a very high strung individual.
Dishonest- Basically, Rayner panics a lot. And when he panics, he lies. While he might tell the truth later, most of what comes out of his mouth is to keep himself in good graces with people.
Easily Addicted- Rayner will take anything that'll make him feel better, less anxious, less stressed out, and thus, is quite dependent on a few drugs or habits which may only increase.

Rayner still uses electronics and music to relax, but only if he can't get his drug fix soon.

[attr="class","hdinfo"]Quite frankly, Rayner probably never had a chance at his school. He was a foreign kid with a weird name and just so happened to be smart, shy and small, the type of kid bullies gravitate towards. By the time he was a teenager Rayner have been turned into the anxious, scared person he is now by the bullies that pushed him around or even made him scared to be alone where they may find him. Looking for some sort of relief from his own anxiety, Rayner first tried little habits that helped him relax, electronics, constant music and so on but each eventually lost their effectiveness. Rayner have almost given up until he found one last thing, drugs.

He knew drugs were bad for you and yes, he knew they were illegal but they actually helped him feel better and he ended up going back to the alleyways where he and others went nearly daily for their fixes. Obviously, this couldn't stay hidden forever and eventually Rayner's parents found, to their horror, a stash of drugs hidden in his closet for whenever he couldn't afford any more drugs. They have noticed some odd habits of Rayner's, spending large amounts of money, mood swings and recently dropping grades but drug use have never crossed their minds. Almost instantly they took away all of his stash, despite his pleading not to because the drugs made him feel much better, and sent him to the reform school Birchwood Academy to both fix his grades and get rid of his drug addiction.

Of course, that's going to be a bit difficult, after all, Rayner is persistent for the things he definitely wants.
