[attr="class","hdinfo"]Surprisingly Ezra's upbringing was pretty normal. Her parents named her after her great grandfather who had founded their hometown somewhere in Maine. Unfortunately her parents didn't realize the name was usually reserved for boys, but it sounded feminine enough to pass so she was fortunate enough to avoid teasing for the most part. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately,) she had no siblings. Her parents' attention fell fixated on her, and she was spoiled quite a bit. It was obvious she didn't mind it. She was her parents' pride and joy, and quite the intelligent thing, too. But due to high intelligence, it wasn't surprising for her to get bored easily. And on top of that, her intelligence marked her as a social pariah. Not too many people wanted to befriend the teacher's pet. As technology was on the rise, she found herself depending on the internet for friends of all kinds.

It wasn't long before she found herself on the darker side of things. While she took an interest in programming, her curiosity took the better of her, and it wasn't long before she began to pick up how to hijack various devices simply from her own computer. Her work was simple to start off, yet at the same time a hassle for those who had to deal with it. Her personal favorite was tapping into the school's intercom and broadcasting the John Cena theme, or even tapping into the televisions that were all around the school and playing particularly gory scenes from some of her favorite movies. And the thing is, she didn't really do it to get back at anyone, she just did a lot of it for fun. Around her freshman year, she fell extremely ill and missed plenty of school. This didn't mean her games would end, they only got better in time. And the best was since she wasn't attending school, they couldn't really suspect her.

Unfortunately due to her long-term absence, she was required to repeat her freshman year. It was embarrassing, that's for sure, but she didn't really mind. It meant she could do far more obscene things with the school, like tapping into the intercom once more to allow the school to overhear everything going on in the principal's office. Some things were quite revealing, if she were being honest. Maybe she did a service for the school, cause at one point she managed to catch the secretary embezzling plenty of the school funds. The secretary was fired, but the school was most certainly on the lookout for their anonymous source. They knew the source would be tied to many other things. They'd tried searching before, but Ezra normally came prepared, using plenty of resources at her fingertips. Her acts only grew as she became more acquainted with everything, like changing around student records, tapping into teachers' computers to place incriminating bits of information, and so on and so forth. All for the sake of her own amusement.

However she did slip up at one point. It was only for a brief moment, but the proxy she used gave out only for a few seconds. But it was long enough for teachers to trace it back to her school account. She went through the whole song and dance of how her actions were, "inappropriate," and, "contemptible," that they were, "ashamed that such a talented student was behind this." They didn't have much of a choice but to expell her for the time being. It was safe to say she wasn't too pleased, and decided to get her revenge the only way that made sense, to mess with the school's finances. To avoid legal troubles, she used a public connection. They were everywhere nowadays, so it'd be damn near impossible to trace it all back to her. All it really took was changing decimal places and a couple zeroes, then the financial branch came toppling down. Metaphorically of course. The school district did a thorough investigation as to search for the culprit, believing more embezzlement had been involved. They couldn't have a repeat of it again, after all.

Ezra didn't have much of a choice but to move to a new school after that. Her parents remained concerned with their daughter's behavior, naturally. She'd never acted out before. Rather than talking it through, their more logical reason lead them to send her to some reform school. She supposed she didn't mind, she could still have her fun there.
