He experiences social anxiety and goes through bouts of depression, but he's convinced himself nothing is wrong and everything he does is "normal". Except he skips classes when he doesn't want to attend because he "doesn't feel like it" and hasn't shaken the habit of sleeping in a closet rather than a bed. But he's fine really. And if you yell at him, he'll probably do whatever you ask.
comrades Elias will be friends with anyone who asks him to. He's a friendly guy that stops to help old ladies cross the street, and while he's perceived as airheaded he usually has good intentions. Of course he does like being on good terms with others in general, but if anything he's more concerned with doing what people want. He hates conflict, he hates drawing attention to himself, and he'll delude himself whichever way he has to to keep things simple in his head. If "friendship" is a convenient defintion, he'll use it. Now he is willing and capable of having a genuinely positive and close bond with others, but they'll probably have to work through his denial that's as deep as... well it's real deep. It's his whole coping mechanism, so while friendly acquaintances are likely to be plentiful, anyone with a real emotional bond with him are likely goig to have to work through some tough emotional rollercoasters.
WANTS: someone that understands his situation+denial (That One Friend), someone that drags him to ~~fun~~ things, someone to make him confront his fears (with good intentions), people to ditch class with
romances Romance is tricky because Elias will once more say yes to anyone who asks or expresses interest; gender isn't something that concerns him really. Eeeven if he also said yes to someone else, which is by every definition cheating. He's not actually very good at juggling relationships so his usually end pretty messily, and he doesn't like to dwell too much on the fact that "sorry" doesn't cut it. Just keep out of old exes' sights and let them punch him or something if they see him, no harm done right? Otherwise he's really really easy to control, and if someone has the foresight to tell him not to go out with anyone else, he won't. He doesn't think about love that much though, and oftentimes it's someone else who does, but he is fond of pretty faces.
WANTS: people he dated and cheated on, current datemate??, someone he has a crush on and doesn't realize he has a crush on, someone (or someones) to play stupid dating games like spin the bottle #boy/girlfriendtag i'm watching japanese vines and I have a Need, or just someone to smooch him romantically/platonically i'm thirsty ok
conflicts The thing with enemies and Elias is that he'd really prefer not to make them. If they want to hit him, he'll let them. Tell him there's a unicorn outside he'll look out the window. Whatever will let him avoid conflict and confrontation, and if he ends up getting roughed up in the process he'll make some dumb excuse to brush it off to anyone concerned. He never treats anything as a big deal, so he won't even snitch. Besides being real easy to bully though, he's also pretty... obviously fake. He smiles and laughs and acts as if everything is normal just about 24/7. His obvious lack of sincerity can definitely be offputtting if people hang around him too often, and if you ever count on him for anything... well you'll regret it. He probably didn't do it. What he says he'll do and what he'll actually do are often two very different things.
WANTS: punch him in the face, make him do errands, dig too deep into his personal life and make him confront his fears (with bad intentions), fuck him up thx |

HELLO ROOMMATEEEE. or rather the roomie that dean probs tries to makeout/hookup w on a daily basis. whoops. 8') in a nutshell tho, dean is that guy who regularly yells 'HONEY I'M HOME' in the middle of the night as he comes back to their dorm room. drunk. he's obnoxious and doesn't quite understand how compassion works, so tbh he wouldn't actually understand/detect elias' depression. he only cares about his own problems rly. but that doesn't mean that he won't try to befriend elias!! as a matter of fact, he will wanna hangout w him all the time bc they're roommates which means that they're practically siblings on some levels, too?? well to dean at least. so getting dragged everywhere is probs unavoidable unless eli actually deliberately avoids/hides from dean. i mean this guy's obnoxious af so i wouldn't blame him if he does tbh LOL. eli may or may not also notice all the random piles of shit that dean has lying around, among which are 'things' that he's smuggled into the school in exchange for money. some of eli's own belongings are likely to go missing as well since dean is klepto and if confronted he'd play dumb and pretend to pull it out of eli's pocket to 'return' it? like, 'wallet? oh you mean the one that was here all along, y'butt?' he's the worst i'm sry lmAO.

Handful for Elias and he convinces himself he doesn't mind Dean but at the same time the safest place in their dorm to him is his closet oops. honestly though Elias will probably go along with Dean like 90% of the time. he wants to go out somehwere?? sure... makeout?? why not. there are a few reasons why not but honestly while Dean isn't his Favorite person he'll still hang out if Dean asks. The parties he could do without though those are when he avoids the room and sleeps somewhere else. and damn Eli would realize that dean stole things of his but if Dean just says he had it all along, Eli would once more, go with it because he doesn't want to push it. TL;DR eli is a pushover and hes not sure how he feels abt dean but he goes with it. And probably convinces himself Dean is a Normal Roommate everything is Fine (everything is not fine dean pls dont throw parties in their room) |

issac witherton AND ELIAS MADISON So...I woke up and I just brainstormed a crap ton of ideas, so please bare with me a bit ;;v;; Idea I: Issac could be the person who tries to bring Eli out of his shell just in general? I was thinking maybe they could have met at a really noisy environment and somehow tries to slip away together? That really would be enough for Issac to start hanging around Elias and maybe we'll go from there? Idea II: So...Issac is also a very "yes" to anyone person when it comes to romance OTL. If you'd be interested, maybe we could juggle with an ex idea?? Since Eli doesn't really seem like an initiator, it could have been something where Issac had an even worse break-up than usual and maybe he asked Eli because he felt like he needed something new. The reason they became exes could either be because Eli cheated or it could have been just that Issac disappeared for a while after his accident and didn't show back up till now. Or we could just juggle between both reasons LOL. I honestly don't even know what I'm saying anymore, so imma show myself out now. Add/subtract/change things up?? OvO |

Like maybe they met by trying to escape a party together and got friendly and after Issac's bad break up, he asked Elias because new start and Elias would probably seem like a good option at the time. And theeen it goes well for a bit I'd think until yeah Eli cheats and does a shitty job of hiding it. I've been waiting for ex plots tbh so iM PUMPED Eli has probably apologized and offered to let Issac hit him or something, but he's willing to disappear from Issac's sight if he really wants him to since normally after this people don't want to associate with him (for good reason). Maaybe Eli assumes Issac feels that way so since the break up he's done his best to give Issac space?? Which comes off as just plain avoiding him which would lead to... a real awkward time that I'm all for if you are, depending on how Issac felt/feels abt the break up. Also fun fact is that Issac's roommate is currently Eli's tutor/babysitter to make sure he does work (and is also the reason Eli passed freshman year last year), so we can mb plot with @lucas too for an interesting time. like Eli tries to hide in Lucas's dorm bc Lucas would Never think to look for him there except surprise there's Issac. And later lucas maybe. I don't know i'm like throwing things out here sO let me know what you think!! |

Issac usually never gets deep with anyone, but we could say that he was possibly at a weak point when he met/hung out with Eli?? So I could kinda see him bonding with Eli a bit? Like I feel like Issac would be more upset about the fact that Eli wasn't there when he had his accident rather than the fact that Eli cheated. Because before he went blind, Issac was actually pretty normal and less fake OTL. I think he could have grown a little emotionally dependent on Eli and well...I don't suppose that would go too smooth. I mean there's really no way to escape the awkwardness. It was bound to happen >v< And well, Eli could be part of the reason Issac became so cynical and skeptical about people, so I mean it'll most definitely be awkward >8'DD Especially because Issac has probably changed a lot. It would actually be really interesting to plot with @lucas sometime LOL. I mean those two pretty much can't stand each other, but then they're also "good friends" to others, so I mean >3< If both of you are up for it, I am in~ |

issac witherton & ELIAS MADISON Ooh I think I meant to ask when Issac's accident was because reading his app, it looked like it happened before Issac was sent to Birchwood, so I wasn't sure if you meant they knew each other before enrolling in school or not! Also it happened about two years ago, and Elias was still in Birchwood then so I wasn't sure how the timelines worked out :oo But Yeah either way!! Awkwardness and plots with Lucas would be gr8 and once we sort out their past relationship and that whole deal I'd be super down for threading !!! |

issac witherton AND ELIAS MADISON Okay, I'm pretty sure I went bonkers because now that I think about it, it's like bxaugaufhau OTL. It probably couldn't be before the accident that they met, but it could definitely be during the time Issac was going through rehab? Especially since he would have struggled a lot with orientation and getting back into swimming. Maybe he just wanted some support then because all that kinda happens after he got to Birchwood. And the main reason, he became skeptical about people is also because he didn't necessarily recieved any 'real' support? So I guess we can still kinda plot with that-ish?? What do you think? Add/subtract?? I am just worn out nowadays, so I'll need some help trying to get this straight OTL Sorry fam ;;O;; |

Eli is friendly and nice on the surface, but he's not great company for the kind of support Issac would have needed, so cheating+general lack of emotional depth can definitely be why they split up anD why Issac is skeptical about people because Eli is flaky and didn't leave the best impression oops That all checks out with me though!! really it's no problem, dw we can work things out together if we gotta |

Because if I'm really honest, I'm such a bad thread starter, it's not even fun LOL. Literally all I have in mind is that they'll randomly meet by chance OTL. So we could probably just throw them somewhere in town or skipping somewhere or something and go with the flow from there?? And depending on how this all works out, Eli might actually purposely seek Issac out to ask him to play along with his lie to keep up appearances so!! we could work with that and eventually threeway thread with Lucas?? Since I saw something like that was being talked about in Lucas's plotter anyways /o/ but if eli's called out on his shit early, we can def do some kind of random meeting!! maybe eli was told to run an errand for someone on the swim team and they meet up then |
